CLOTH & LACE
Medium: Titanium White + Burnt Umber
Dark: Medium value + Burnt Umber
Low Dark: Dark value + Naples Yellow
Step 1 (cloth): Place the color referring to Step–by–Step 1 and Map 1. Blend. Dry. Wipe the surface.
Step 2 (lace – made with Silkscreen): Lace Color is mixed with Silkscreen Medium plus Desert Sand. Follow application instructions that come with the silkscreen. Before and after silkscreen, use Super-film to smooth the surface. Place the shadow of the flower pot with reference to Map 2 and Step– by–Step 2. Highlight the lace thread in the focal area.
BACKGROUND
Medium: Titanium White + Burnt Umber Dark: Medium value + Burnt Umber Low Dark: Dark value + Burnt Umber Light: Medium value + Warm White High Light: Light value + Warm White
When the painting is complete, dry and dampen the whole board with Blending and Glazing Medium, being careful not to overload. Using the No. 12 flat brush, slip–slap the entire board with background mix. (See Map 2 and Step-by-Step 3). Blend. Dry. Wipe the surface.
FINISHING
After the paint is dry, apply your preferred varnish. I used Final Coat Varnish. It will be gorgeous framed in gold.
Step 3: Emphasize highlights with Light Value of Lace Mix and shade with Dark Mix.
