Students at the major US military academies
have in recent years taken bigger roles in
computer, cyber, and network security programs.
They are preparing for a future in which cyberwarfare
is certain to be a factor. The hands-on experience they
gain while still preparing for leadership roles will enhance
their abilities to gain the upper hand in the battle against it
and the peace of mind they and their cohorts in all military
specialties need to do their jobs well.
The warfighters using the innovative bullets, bombers,
computers and other enhanced weapons of war need to
know that their families are taken care of when they are
deployed. That is the mission of the military’s constantly
expanding Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR)
programs, which not only reward current warfighters but
will provide services in the future for those who have served
honorably in the past.
Keeping the 21st century military strong has to be a
combined effort between the veterans who have paved the
way and today’s warfighters if the military wants to remain
