As Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of
The Walt Disney Studios, Paul Shurgot oversees finance
for the Studios’ film division, which includes films
produced by Disney Live Action, Walt Disney
Animation Studios, Pixar, Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm,
as well as the stage play and music division. Paul
joined The Walt Disney Company in 1994, and has held

positions in Studio Financial Controls, Corporate
Operations Planning and Studio Finance. Memorable
projects include the reorganization and sale of
Miramax, start-up and dissolution of Image Movers
Digital, DreamWorks distribution deal and the
integrations of both Marvel and Lucasfilm’s studio
operations following their acquisitions by Disney.

Prior to joining Disney, Paul served as Manager, M&A
Advisory/Due Diligence Group, at Ernst & Young LLP,
where he was responsible for analyzing and
structuring the acquisition of target companies. Paul’s
previous experience includes roles at Harvey Universal

Inc. and KPMG Peat Marwick. He pursued his
undergraduate degree at UCLA where he received a
Bachelor of Arts in economics and business, and later
earned an MBA in strategy and finance from the UCLA
Anderson School of Management.
