Past Continuous Tense

ประโยค Past Continuous Tense เชิงบอกเลา

โครงสราง : Subject + was , were + Verb 1 ing

( ประธาน + was , were + กริยาชองที่ 1 เติม ing )

ตัวอยาง 1. 52 persons were missing.

2. Many people were starving.

ประโยค Past Continuous Tense เชิงปฏิเสธ

โครงสราง : Subject + was, were + not + Verb1 ing.

( ประธาน + was , were + not + กริยาชองที่ 1 เติม ing )

ตัวอยาง 1. 52 persons were not missing.

2. Many people were not starving.

ประโยค Past Continuous Tense เชิงคําถาม

โครงสราง : Was, Were + Subject + Verb1 ing. ?

( Was , Were +ประธาน + กริยาชองที่ 1 เติม ing )

ตัวอยาง 1. Were 52 persons missing ?

2. Were many people starving ?

การตอบ ตอบดวย Yes หรือ No ดังนี้

1. Yes, they were.

2. No, they weren’t.

*** ขอควรจํา ใชกับเหตุการณ 2 เหตุการณที่เกิดขึ้นในอดีต

เหตุการณที่เกิดกอนและกําลังดําเนินอยู ใช past continuous

เหตุการณสั้นๆ ที่เขามาแทรก ใช past simple

เชน When I came home , my mother was cooking in the kitchen.
