                  III.  COURSE DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES

                  Purpose:
                  Produce written texts in English that permit communication of ideas while correctly
                  using linguistic elements and maintaining coherence and cohesion.

                  Course Description:

                  The  “Writing  I”  syllabus  is  going  to  teach  students  how  to  generate  topics,  write

                  cohesive paragraphs, and organize them into clear, logical expository compositions. It

                  will focus on expository writing-or explaining-because.
                  At the end of the syllabus, students will be able to clarify ideas in the writing process.

                  Use different techniques in the writing process. Apply proper formatting in the creation
                  of written works. Write works of diverse nature. Evaluate written works of other authors

                  and edit them.
                  In order to create a good learning atmosphere in which students can process, internalize

                  and make the information theirs, some approaches will be used, such as the Functional
