New CYAA members

So good to have Ian Redwood sign up as a new CYAA boat

If the welcome hasn’t been given before to another Couta Boat
Owner then here it is for Colin Arcaro. Colin joined up with the
Classic’s last October as a supporter member. He’s is part owner

Stradbroke II Trophy and Peter Abrahams

The source of the Cup Regatta Stradbroke II trophy, Peter
Abrahams, recently passed. It was through the work of Peter
and Col Anderson that made this trophy happen for the CYAA.
It now hangs on the RYCV Classic Yacht wall. It’s the Ships Bell
from the once RYCV flag ship Stradbroke II. This trophy is used
to recognised the best performing Couta boat in our Cup
Regatta’s. No doubt Peter Abraham’s presence will live on at
RYCV through this trophy. Besides yachting, the Abrahams
family played a significant role in the Heidelberg School artist
                                                                               Stradbroke II Trophy @ RYCV
colony At the time of Peter’s passing he was preparing an article
that explained the connection of this group of artists and in
particular the Cigar Box collection that features at the National Gallery and the
        Stradbroke II Trophy.
                                                                        Colin Orchard
