PLANNING
What we do:
The Planning Group manages the state's planning, building and heritage systems,
including developing long-term, integrated land-use strategies and policies,
administering statutory planning responsibilities and facilitating urban
development.
Planning works closely with state and local government, agencies, stakeholders
and the community to achieve the department's objective of creating liveable,
inclusive and sustainable communities.
Who we are:
Office of the Deputy Secretary Division - Deputy Secretary, Julian Lyngcoln
Provides high-level support for the Deputy Secretary and Planning Executive. Has
a coordinating role across the Planning Group encompassing culture and
workforce planning, finance and business strategy, and operational business
services.
Statutory Planning Services Division - Executive Director Jane Homewood
Provides statutory planning advice and delivers planning scheme amendments
and environmental impact assessments for major projects and supports planning
permit approvals where the Minister is the Responsible Authority including the
Capital City Zone. Advises and supports key government projects through urban
design modelling.
Planning and Heritage Division - Executive Director Andrew Grear
Ensures the effective and efficient operation of the state's planning system, and
develops policies to support hazard resilience, coastal and bushfire planning.
Provides heritage advice across government and delivers programs to support
heritage conservation.
