Urban parking problems cause traffic congestion, fuel waste and frustration among drivers. Therefore, this project developed a smart parking system, “SPOT,” to optimize parking availability using predictive models, data analysis and user-friendly interface design. Our model reduces search time, traffic congestion and parking costs - enabling the location of parking spaces with private lot collaboration. The main challenges were data collection and analysis for: the formulation of optimal research questions: the construction of an accurate prediction model; and the definition of optimal machine learning. This project presents an interactive application prototype for improving the user experience and urban traffic management.

This project was conducted in the Production Department of the “Adama Makhteshim” factory to streamline and reduce costs. The first stage involved identifying inefficiencies in the production process and reviewing relevant literature. Work sampling was conducted to: determine defect rates; analyze root causes; assess employee workload; and determine machine utilization. Additionally, standard production times were established. Historical data was analyzed using forecasting models and error rates to predict annual demand. Based on these findings, an optimal inventory policy was, minimizing costs while ensuring demands were met. The implementation of these recommendations should improve operational efficiency and generate annual savings of approximately 4,000 NIS.
