The rapid growth of air traffic and the increasing density of passenger and cargo aircraft have significantly overloaded air-traffic control towers, creating challenges in managing the safety of airspace operations. Real-time aircraft detection and classification are critical for enhancing aviation safety and efficient air-traffic management. Accurately and swiftly classifying aircraft in dynamic conditions is essential for preventing congestion and ensuring smooth operations. The complexity of technical challenges, such as variable lighting, visual noise, and dynamic environments, has driven the need for advanced detection frameworks. This project focused on the YOLO (You Only Look Once) algorithm, achieving high-speed, real-time detection while balancing accuracy and computational efficiency. A comparative analysis of YOLO versions led to recommendations based on performance metrics, system constraints, and operational requirements.

This project presented a design for modernization of the electrical system at the Hulda water-pumping station, a strategic facility in Israel’s national water supply network operated by Mekorot. The design includes high-voltage infrastructure, transformers, low-voltage systems, emergency generators, control panels, grounding methods, and electrical protection. Emphasis was placed on energy efficiency, operational reliability, and compliance with Israeli and international standards. The system was designed to meet future demand increases as well, while ensuring continuous and secure power supply under variable conditions.
