Power System Design for a Shopping Center

This project designed an electrical supply system for a shopping center. Its purpose was to provide a relevant response to all the electrical needs required in such a facility, while considering several key parameters: economic efficiency, supply reliability, safety, and more. The design of the electrical system for the shopping center addressed a wide range of areas, including the connection of the facility to the electricity grid, the facility's main energy room, supply cables, transformers, electrical panels, grounding, protection against electric shock, backup generator, water pumps, garbage compactor, and distribution cabinet.

This project focused on the design of an electrical distribution system for a paint manufacturing plant which complies with Israeli and international standards, as well as with the Electricity Law regulations. The design addressed the needs of both high-voltage and low-voltage consumers, emphasizing safety and operational efficiency. The project covered the complete system, from the Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) supply source down to the individual equipment usage; this included the design of HV panels, transformers, and LV main panels. Special focus was given to the selection of feeders, cables, transformers, emergency generators, grounding systems, protection against electric shock, short-circuit and voltage-drop calculations, power factor improvement, and full compliance verification for all equipment.
