This project involved the design, development, and implementation of a floating photovoltaic system on a water reservoir in Kfar Hittim, a moshav in northern Israel. The system, which harnesses solar radiation to generate clean electricity using photovoltaic technology, features an intelligent, durable platform adapted to environmental changes, while also addressing stability, durability, and maintenance challenges. The structure integrates lightweight, water-resistant materials, advanced energy conversion technologies, and smart monitoring sensors. The flotation approach utilizes unused water surfaces for renewable energy production and environmental monitoring. Extensive research guided the selection of optimal components, including solar panels to convert solar radiation into DC, inverters to convert DC to AC for grid connection, transformers, and high/low-voltage panels for power distribution.

This project focused on the design and implementation of a floating photovoltaic (FPV) system on a water reservoir at Kibbutz Lavi, in the Galilee region of Israel. The goal was to generate clean, renewable DC energy using solar panels on a floating structure made of lightweight, water-resistant materials. The system adapts to environmental changes with smart monitoring sensors to optimize performance and maintenance. Utilizing the water surface also saves land space and reduces water evaporation. Key components included solar panels, an inverter, transformers, and high/low-voltage panels for stable and safe power distribution. The engineering design addressed related challenges as well, such as stability, durability, and long-term operation.
