Who Is That Guy?
Greentown, IN to Reynolds, IN 765kV Transmission Line
Robert Barrientez is part of a crew that goes to work climbing 200’ high steel structures.
About 80 percent of MasTec employees are exposed to the elements regardless of how cold or hot temperatures get. And then, there are THOSE GUYS. The guys that do the impossible. They climb high structures, they work from helicopters and they straddle wind turbines like they’re playing on jungle gyms.
This photo was taken on the
Pioneer Reynolds to Greentown, IN 765kV Project, which is the most powerful line of electricity being built in America today. The four guys in this photo climb 200’ above ground to do their work. Their names are Robert Barrientez, Edmundo Garcia, Eliseo Gonzales and Raymond Pizarro. Fast Break was able to catch up with one of them:
Robert Barrientez lives in San
Antonio, TX, with his wife Lisa Marie and four beautiful children. He has been working on location in Indiana for over a year now, and will stay in Indiana until the project is completed. “I go home as often as I can,” said Robert. “It’s tough being away from my wife and kids. Thankfully this crew is like one big family. We watch out for each other.”
Good job guys!
These guys are amazing!
