P. 6
For example: How do we build our Faith?
1. Ask God, keep asking; Pray and keep praying
2. Take ACTION
3. Assemble to encourage – Fellowship, attend services
4. Do what the word says do
5. The word of God is a recipe, not a menu. DO what it
says!
(Example taken from notes for Bible Study lesson at Morning Star
Community Christian Center, Pastor Therman Evans – 10/2016)
In addition to the main points, write whatever pops into your spirit
for review at a later point. (See section dedicated to “Ideas –
review later.”)
If you miss something, this is a wonderful opportunity to
fellowship with other church members; ask someone afterwards to
help you fill in the missing information.
4) How do I balance listening and writing? Let your spirit guide
you. The more you take notes, the easier it will be. So it is
important to just begin and not worry about it – what you miss in
your notes will land in your heart, if you are fully present. Soon
after the service you can sit quietly (if you drive to church, in your
car before you even drive away) and fill in your notes where you
can. You can also call a friend from church and discuss what you
might have missed.
Then of course, if the sermons are recorded at your church,
listening to it again will certainly fill in your notes. AND, you get
the added benefit of hearing it twice!
Remember, repetition is the key to mastery.
5) Who benefits from me putting Sermons into Action? First of
course, you do. Then depending on what you do with the message,
the impact can ripple outward.
