Measurement Microphones
Earthworks measurement microphones are accurate in
the time domain as well as in frequency. Conventional
microphones smear time information to such a degree
that the relationships, which exist in the air, are degraded
beyond any practical recovery of the original. In contrast,
Earthworks measurement microphones are optimized
for fast clean impulse performance. This fast impulse
response dictates that Earthworks measurement
microphones will also have an accurate wideband
frequency response. In addition, they have virtually no
handling noise and are remarkably stable with respect to
temperature and atmospheric conditions.
They are ideally suited for on-location acoustical
measurements, loudspeaker design and quality control,
sound system setup, room acoustics, or any application
where an accurate free-field measurement microphone is
required.
