The Zero Distortion Technology™ Preamps establish
a new standard of sonic excellence in electronics—a
standard so high that there is simply no possibility of
sonic degradation. This level of accuracy is intended to
allow you, the recordist and the listener, to experience
all of the life-like realism that Earthworks microphones
provide. Our goal is to capture the moment, like you were
there. Imagine sound so pure you can make your signal
processing choices later when you have time to consider.
The ZDT Premps are exceptionally accurate and in the time
domain they are unmeasurably perfect. The frequency
response is flatter and more wideband than any other
preamp on the market. The primary gain path (XLR input-
stepped gain-XLR output) is entirely differential , using all
discrete components, and the total distortion is less than
one part per million (0.00001%).
