WAXAHACHIE ISD
The award winning Waxahachie ISD is one of the prized
assets of the community of Waxahachie. Waxahachie ISD
supports a diverse student population of 8,500 regular
attending students. The school district regularly meets and
exceeds state standards, as well as winning awards in the
fine arts and athletics programs.
As a showing of their commitment Waxahachie is building a
brand new $118,000,000 high school campus.
DOWNTOWN HISTORIC WAXAHACHIE
Waxahachie is locally known for its elaborate
Richardsonian Romanesque courthouse, considered by
many to be among the most beautiful of Texas's older
courthouses. Centered around the Courthouse,
Waxahachie has done a great job of preserving the charm
of the square while also creating an atmosphere of fun,
shopping and restaurants.
The town also features many examples of Victorian
architecture and Gingerbread homes, several of which
have been converted into bed and breakfasts.
The Scarbough Renaissance Festival has been a popular
event since 1981, Bethlehem Revisited and Texas County
Reporter Festival are Waxahachie, family-friendly events
that have an average attendance of over 30,000 annually.
