                       Maintenance

Pulsatron Suction and Discharge Valve - Replacement Procedure

ƒ Flush pump to clean any chemical from the liquid end.
ƒ Unplug pump, release system pressure, and disconnect tubing or piping.
ƒ Unscrew the suction and discharge valve cartridges and return to Belanger.
Also remove o-rings internal to the pump head.
ƒ Install new suction and discharge cartridges with stamped letter reading from
top to bottom, and the arrow pointing in the direction of flow. Hand tighten
ONLY; DO NOT use wrenches or pliers. Over tightening can cause the
                             distortion of the seats.
ƒ Reconnect tubing or piping and reinstall the pump.
ƒ Prime Metering Pump and check to assure the valves are leak-free.

Questions to be asked prior to returning a Pulsatron
                       Solenoid Metering Pump
                          • Was the Pump difficult to prime or lose prime during normal operation? Seal
                              distortion could cause these issues.

                          • Has the volume of chemical being dispensed dropped off significantly?
                          • If the valve ball is not seating properly the volume of chemical will reduce during operation.

                          • Leakage at suction or discharge valves? Distortion of ball seat could cause the chemical to leak through the
                              check valves.
