Pulsatron Suction and Discharge Valve - Replacement Procedure
Flush pump to clean any chemical from the liquid end.
Unplug pump, release system pressure, and disconnect tubing or piping.
Unscrew the suction and discharge valve cartridges and return to Belanger.
Also remove o-rings internal to the pump head.
Install new suction and discharge cartridges with stamped letter reading from
top to bottom, and the arrow pointing in the direction of flow. Hand tighten
ONLY; DO NOT use wrenches or pliers. Over tightening can cause the
distortion of the seats.
Reconnect tubing or piping and reinstall the pump.
Prime Metering Pump and check to assure the valves are leak-free.
Questions to be asked prior to returning a Pulsatron
Solenoid Metering Pump
• Was the Pump difficult to prime or lose prime during normal operation? Seal
distortion could cause these issues.
• Has the volume of chemical being dispensed dropped off significantly?
• If the valve ball is not seating properly the volume of chemical will reduce during operation.
• Leakage at suction or discharge valves? Distortion of ball seat could cause the chemical to leak through the
check valves.
