This summer, after working in Cincinnati with GE, Brandon will be on the assembly foor at Lockheed Martin in Marietta, Georgia. Outside of school, Brandon enjoys golf, and building race cars with the Society of Automotive Engineers. Read on to fnd out more! What inspired you to volunteer for a chapter leadership role so early on? I became our chapter’s Risk Manager the frst semester after initiation. I was very passionate about Risk Manager because I knew the responsibilities of the position; if we got in trouble, our charter could be revoked. At this time, the University of Florida IFC was also becoming increasingly strict, mainly with the pledge process. I am glad that I took on a position as early as I did because it will help me when I run for positions in the future. Brandon with his Dad, David, and his brother Zac. What will you be doing at Lockheed Martin? This summer, I will be doing an internship with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Marietta, Georgia. I am very excited to work there, as I am very passionate about America, aviation and our military. I am not entirely sure what I will be working on, but I think I will be performing a manufacturing/operations management role on the C-130, a military cargo transport plane that is used by over 70 countries around the world. I am very excited to use my experience from my previous internship at General Electric Aviation, in order to see the marriage between GE’s jet engines and Lockheed’s aircraft. Brandon at the Delray Municipal Golf Course. Outside of your internship, what are your plans for How did the Florida Club Golf start out? the summer? Florida Club Golf was founded in January of 2014, by both I am very fortunate to be located in Marietta, Georgia, as Laura Kanouse and me. Laura and I were both looking to I have very close family friends that live there. I will be play golf competitively in college, but did not qualify for the spending a lot of time with my best friend, Grant and my nationally ranked University of Florida Golf Team. We found sister’s boyfriend, Blake, who just graduated from Ranger that there was no club golf team at UF, so we fgured we School. We plan on doing a lot of outdoor activities such would try and start the University of Florida Club Golf Team. as fshing and hunting. I also plan on playing golf with colleagues at Lockheed Martin. Has it been successful? Florida Club Golf has been extremely successful thus BΘΠ far. We are very pleased with how far the club golf team has come in just a few short months. In our frst season 4
