ALUMNI NEWS Become a Larry E. Matthews ’65 had a new book come TN Delta Mentor out last year: “Caves of Grassy Cove.” Grassy Cove is the largest sinkhole in the United States. This book is lavishly illustrated, with photographs and maps. It begins with the use of these caves by American Indians, continues with saltpeter mining during the War of 1812 and the Civil War, and continues with the current exploration by modern cavers. You can fnd it in the Vanderbilt Library and the Nashville Public Library.
