Case Statement Our History Each of us has wonderful memories of our time spent at the University of Georgia. Our time spent as undergraduate members of Lambda Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi has led to lifelong friendships and given us experiences that helped shape who we are today. Lambda Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi has been a part of the UGA Greek Life system for 100 years and has grown to more than 100 undergraduate members and more than 1,600 alumni. Our presence in UGA’s Greek Life is both strong in presence and tradition. Our Chapter Today Pi Kappa Phi is one of the strongest fraternities on the UGA campus, both socially and philanthropically. Each year the undergraduate chapter holds a philanthropic event called “The War of the Roses,” that benefts PUSH America. The more than 100 undergraduate members represent what it truly means to be a Pi Kappa Phi and look forward to continuing our legacy on campus. Our Need As the 100th anniversary approaches, we all should be especially refective of the milestone that our chapter has reached, what Pi Kappa Phi has meant to us, and the impact on the men that will follow in our footsteps. With that in mind, it’s important to note where we have come as a chapter and where it is that we intend to go. If we are to continue to grow and prosper we need a chapter house that refects our rich history yet provides a competitive home for today’s undergraduates. The current house is in desperate need of renovation and expansion. With a chapter size of more than 100 men we are in need of an addition to the back of the existing structure that will provide sleeping space for an additional 16 men. At the same time, a complete renovation of the existing structure is long overdue. Our Future As the undergraduate continues to grow, it is important to keep pace with, the competitive nature of Greek Life at the University of Georgia. The total cost estimate of the project is $1,500,000. We have a fundraising goal to raise at least $1,000,000 toward the overall cost of the project. Make no mistake – we cannot do this without you. We need each brother to make the best pledge he is able to make payable over a fve year period. We ask that you remember how the University of Georgia and Pi Kappa Phi impacted your life, and that by participating in Building for the Next 100 Years campaign, you will be stepping up to ensure that future brothers have the same opportunities and experiences that you were able to share in your undergraduate years.
