PHILANTHROPY UPDATE
This past spring the brothers of the Gamma Xi chapter achieved
unparalleled success in our philanthropy, Beta Bring It On. A cheerleading
contest amongst every sorority, our brothers worked tirelessly to coach, plan,
host, and even participate this massive event. Behind the extraordinary
leadership of Dre Levy we earned over $41,000. As a brotherhood we are
very happy to support the Alzheimer’s Foundation, knowing it truly is a
disease that affects everyone. We are looking forward to another incredible
event this year, this time led by Anthony Rocca.
BROTHERHOOD SUMMER
ADVENTURES:
For most, the end of spring classes meant the dawning start of a summer
job, an internship, or summer courses. Brothers Jack Sory and Sean Murtha
had a different vision for how they’d spend their days away from Gainesville.
The two decided to do what many dream about, but few follow through with;
backpacking Europe.
Starting in the beginning of May, the two explored Europe with only what
they could carry. They first traveled the countryside of Switzerland, and made
stops in Italy, Germany, Spain and others, visiting friends studying abroad and
finding local hostels to sleep for the night. Both say it was they created the most
incredible memories of their lives and hope that anyone hoping for a similar trip
will take the risk and go for it.
