5 Distinguished Alumni Award Winners!
Robert J. Buford (GM 1120) is CEO and Dean Langford (GM 924) was President
founder (in 1982) of Planned Realty Group, and CEO of Sylvania and OSRAM SYLVANIA
Inc. and its property management subsidiary, for over seventeen years until retiring in 2002 as
Planned Property Management, Inc. Bob the lighting company’s longest-standing chief
is a graduate of the University of Illinois executive. Dean has a B.S. in Aeronautical
(Champaign) with has a BS degree in Industrial Engineering and a B.S. in Mathematics and
Engineering. He also holds an MBA from the holds an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters
University of Chicago and a law degree from degree from Salem (Mass.) State College.

Jim Elsesser (GM 1028) graduated Richard Byrne, MD. (GM 1358)
with a BS from the Business School, was completed his undergraduate studies in
commissioned as a naval officer, and married 1987 and received his medical doctorate at
Lionelle Hurley in 1966. He graduated with Northwestern University Medical School in
