Alumni News Congratulations! Signifcant Sig James W. McKinzie, MD, Illinois 1952, was one of three inaugural recipients of the Cephas Bard Award of the Community Memorial Healthcare Foundation of Ventura, California, and sole recipient in the CMH Retired Physician category. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at 410 during ’41 and ’42. James M. Brown ’43 - Just to pass on a little known bit of EX history...in 1945 and 1946 an unoffcial but well attended group approximately 20 active Sigs met regularly in the living room of a Philippino family who graciously invited us to use their home. I may be the sole survivor of that group! Jerry H. Katz ’51 & Randy A. West ’51 – Oops! In the fall of 2014 we published in the newsletter that Jerry had passed away. Randy West called in to let us know that Jerry is still alive and kicking! Randy recruited Jerry as a senior in high school for Kappa Kappa. Jerry was a great track runner and had lettered in his freshman year. A leg injury held him back later on in life. Today, Randy continues to stay in touch with Jerry, and his wife, Beverly. Randy is currently living in a retirement home with his wife of over 66 years, Mary Jane. Adam Miller ’03, Jen Miller, Kristen Miazga, Matt Miazga ’03, Paul Bateman ’03.50 Mary Jane was an Alpha Phi, and Randy and Mary Jane were married and Joni Zimmerman attend Illinois vs Minnesota Homecoming 2014. after he graduated law school. Thank you for the update, guys! Adam G. Miller ’03 (pictured above) - After having left the Midwest in Samuel H.
