Decompaction of Synthetic Turf pitches
Regular decompactions of synthetic turf surfaces are
required. Over time, synthetic grass sports pitches do
become compacted and firm - however with routine
and regular proactive maintenance this can be
addressed and combated.
To address these issues, methods of Decompaction
need to be introduced early into the maintenance
schedule using suitable equipment. Extensive
research and development has allowed Pride Sports
to source and operate machinery to address and
resolve issues of compaction.
Light Decompactions should be carried out to a depth
of approximately 15mm and will help to reinstate the
correct characteristics in the top part of the carpet,
making it softer underfoot. These works will be critical
to the play-ability of the synthetic sports pitch and
should be carried out on a monthly basis.
Deep Clean Synthetic Grass Pitch
A Deep Clean is the ideal complement to any ongoing
synthetic sports pitch maintenance programme. The
specialist brushing process is designed to get much
deeper into the artificial carpet than conventional Power
Sweeping as it is far more intense - de-compacting and
rejuvenating the surface. A Deep Clean should be carried
out annually or biannually, depending on levels of pitch
usage and current maintenance procedures.
Due to the nature of the operation it is most effective
during the summer months when the pitch surface is dry,
allowing the brushing action and powerful vacuum turbine
to remove dust, debris and broken-down fibres. Failure to
remove such material will result in the contamination
filtering down through the infill, ultimately affecting
drainage and the playing characteristics of the surface.
