Summer Safari
EXHIBITS Join us on Brookfield Zoo’s first-ever safari—a Brick Safari,
that is! Beginning the second weekend in May, more than
40 life-size animal sculptures will be swimming, stamped-
ing, and flying into Brookfield Zoo for the summer.
Grab your binoculars (not really needed) and gaze upon wildlife sculptures
created from millions of individual LEGO® bricks. These never-before-seen-in-
North-America LEGO® brick sculptures will amaze kids, those young at heart,
and Adult Fans of LEGO® (AFOL). Walk past lions, tigers, and bears—and you
might even spot an elephant with his trunk held high, or a silverback gorilla
watching the crowd.
While there is no assembly required before you visit our Brick Safari, we
encourage you to assemble your friends and family to gather at this summer
exhibit and create special memories.

Brick Safari Exciting updates are
to find out! coming to Brookfield Zoo!
Construction is slated to begin this spring on
10 GATEWAYS | NEWS BITES Hamill Family Nature Plaza, which will serve as
an anchor to the south corridor of the zoo.
Located in the former home of Baboon Island,
this new plaza will transform the area into an
exciting space for inspiration, exploration, and
learning about nature. It will also provide an
opportunity for people from under-resourced
urban communities visiting Brookfield Zoo to
experience and connect with nature in a safe,
welcoming environment.
New pathways and outdoor seating will be
found throughout the prairie-like area and
pollinator gardens for visitors to enjoy the area
at their leisure, and guests will also be able to
enjoy structured educational programs, animal
presentations, wildlife interpretation, a sensory
garden, and revenue-generating events in the
three-season learning pavilion located at the
center of the space.
We will also re-brand Scoops and update
the menu offerings at this restaurant location.
