Brookfield Zoo Memories continued

“We will never visit

the Zoo without
riding The Carousel!”

On Sunday, August 13, my 12-month-old son,
Zachary, rode The Carousel at the Zoo for the very
first time. We chose the emu as it is on the outside
and Dad could take pictures and videos and Mom
(who is short) could easily hold on. We were in for
such a treat!
Zachary smiled, screamed with delight, and
had the best time. His excitement was infectious.
We had onlookers cheering us on as we circled over
and over. As his mom, I beamed with delight at
how much fun he was having.
This is certainly a core memory for our family
and I’m so grateful we got to experience it at our
local Zoo. We will never visit the Zoo without
riding The Carousel. It’s a mandatory stop.

I have enjoyed being a Zoo member and coming
with family and friends for years. I have two
experiences that mean a lot to me.
During the summer of 2020, my mom, dad, and
I took an outing to the Zoo and saw the dinosaurs
on display. This was one of the last family trips we
took before my dad got sick and our family changed
forever. This is a cherished memory for me.
The second experience was in December 2022
when I came to see the Zoo’s holiday lights. I was
on a third date with my boyfriend and that’s when
I knew we had something special and I wanted my
life to be with him.
