Between May 26 and August 11, 2023,

Brookfield Zoo received more than 700
digital entries to our 2023 Photo Contest.

The Voting
A panel of distinguished judges, including award-winning
Chicago Zoological Society staff photographer, Jim Schulz,
chose their top seven picks in each of the following categories:
• Mammals
• Birds
• Reptiles/Fish/Amphibians/Invertebrates

Their choices were posted on our website at CZS.org and members
of the public were invited to choose their favorite photo in each
of the three categories. The votes were tallied and the three top
vote-getters in each category received 1 , 2 , and 3 place.

The judges also chose one grand-prize winner from all
of the entries submitted.

Brookfield Zoo thanks the judges, voters,

and everyone who sent in their photos.
