You start with writing as the other moves. Your attention plunges between the lick of form in its detail, and the feeling space of the movement through the room. The words
flow through wrist to marker pen, sometimes tangentially responding to the feel of the movements’ atmosphere – sometimes directly describing a certain kinesthetic angle.
The solo unravels to its end and the dancer is ready for listening – lying with face upward/eyes closed/ resting.
You read aloud the words provoked by their movement.
They attempt to repeat these words, aloud, from memory, which is a compositional act. And then roles change over. The marker pen slips from your hand to theirs and as its weight disappears you begin moving with the gravity of a shifting composition. Weight is water spiraling with the attention
of audiences and other. Every movement has its weather of potential to unfold. A new poem unfolds in parallel with your dancing, a concentrated listening tracing states of
