“STARVATION! You can’t do this! I realize you hate me, but I have a baby growing inside of me! Please show mercy upon us!” With that I filled her water pitcher, left the room and locked the door securely. Sitting in my study, I searched in secret mode for steps of starvation, then deleted all search history, as was my routine. Though I knew criminal forensics could delve deep and find anything they wanted to, such efforts wouldn’t be wasted investigating me for I wasn’t on their list of suspects. In fact, I was indeed the opposite - just another victim of Brian Gabel’s wayward life.
The search results proved to me I had chosen a fitting means for my nemesis’ demise: Starvation is a severe deficiency in caloric energy
eventually, death...starvation may also be used as a means of torture. Etc. Etc.
I liked the “eventually, death” part. Not sudden death, but inevitable, anticipated, excruciating death. In addition, I have the added benefit of experiencing the utmost joy in the mere process of explaining to her the series of metabolic modes she can anticipate.
Within only a few days, when the body has had no food, it begins to literally feed on itself. Obviously, when the body depletes its own reserves that provide basic needs, it will no longer be able to supply the necessary nutrients to vital organs and tissues, and certainly not to a fetus! The body will not be able to regulate its temperature, kidney function will be compromised and the immune system will deteriorate. Muscles literally shrink, including the heart and lungs.
