this class, to someone who could use them to make changes, to someone who was in trouble like she had been when she had read the word “salvation,” to someone like Brian. But where could he be? That night before bed she logged onto her Facebook account. There it was. A notice from Facebook suggesting she send an invitation to a new friend...named Brian Gabel.
Her mouth dropped open as she stared at the computer screen in disbelief. There was no photo, but why would Facebook suddenly be matching up the two Gabels? It had to be him. There had to be some connection for them to recommend his name. She clicked on the profile and through her tears, requested he join her page as a friend. This, she believed, was a God wink.
She worked as a receptionist now for a dental office in Ridgeview. Her boss was a good Christian man whom she trusted, and trust didn’t come easy for her. But the real blessing she realized was that he trusted her in return.
She shut down her computer and went to bed, but she couldn’t sleep. Thoughts of Brian, their childhood and their undeniable sibling connection filled her mind. Would it still be as strong if they were to reconnect? Was he still drinking? Would she become a part of his life again, and he a part of hers? Questions kept running through her mind. She raised up in her bed, clasped her hands together and prayed.
