I Wish You Love
We have had our differences, but when push came to shove, I realized all I want to do is sincerely wish you love.
Reflecting on our quarrels, I’ve learned life is just too brief to fill these finite minutes with such anger and such grief.
I will never get returned to me
those minutes spent in sorrow, but from them, I vow to cherish all the minutes of tomorrow.
Releasing pain and vengeance, my soul has been set free
for a lighter, brighter, open heart now beats inside of me.
Never disregard opponents, and the bridges you may burn, because out of those ashes, emerge the lessons we must learn.
I’ve become a better person -- resilient, poised and strong. Your actions brought to the surface what was there all along.
I never thought I could be grateful for the angst and the pain. But, I’m more thankful for the sun since being soaked by the rain.
I’ve encountered my own limits and I’m proud to say, it’s true, my heart hasn’t the ability to hate the way you do.
