The threshold between life and death, a line whose boundaries blend the end of the beginning
into the beginning of the end.
We live too many years
before considering the thought that we tread this earthly ground today, but tomorrow we may not.
For the threshold waits in silence, indifferent...resolute
for time to bring forth
its next inevitable recruit.
Life’s cycle, bittersweet,
a mix of what we lose and gain, for the joy we find in love often later causes pain.
Humble the ominous threshold by seizing joy in your existence for every day you are alive shortens its brief distance.
