Wake-Up Call
She watched a dear loved one cross the threshold of death. With her hand upon his shoulder, he breathed his last breath.
She would have given every penny if more time could be bought. But he was here on Wednesday, and on Thursday, he was not.
Sorrow quickly filled the room.
She felt a tremor down her spine,
as an awakening coursed through her veins, her body, soul and mind.
A rekindled realization
how life is only temporary, and so much of what we fill it with is so unnecessary!
She vowed, alone, in silence
to make each tear a stark reminder -- to live the life in front of her, and put the past behind her.
And suddenly her problems felt insignificant and small. It seems his eternal slumber became her wake-up call.
We need to truly understand the truth in what they say because “life goes by too fast” is an accurate cliché.
So, love with all the love you have, and laugh at every chance.
