if we were each born with an expiration date stamped upon our forehead -- like a carton of milk.”
Words spoken in jest, yet I contemplate the idea, the notion of if we knew...
Our expiration date --
an unspoken appointment, some believe pre-determined by fate, others – just a random calendar square determined by happenstance.
If we knew...
we would then be preoccupied with something
we’ve already known exists, yet without specificity.
People say:
If I would have known,
I would have told them how much I care. I say tell them now
because you don’t know.
Perhaps, if we knew, we would not waste time we have today worrying about time we may or may not have tomorrow.
