Teufel: Armies have marched over me.
CLOSE UP WILSON
Wilson: I couldn’t have stated the obvious better.
CLOSE UP TEUFEL
Teufel: I intend to survive, Wilson. This is Berlin, 1928, and I
am a common woman. I am not like the frightened, coddled
woman you seek. A woman left over from a world of royalty
dead and gone. I take my life into my hands. Red blood, not
blue, runs in my veins. Long after the world has forgotten
there ever were Grand Duchesses, women like me will survive.
MEDIUM WILSON AND TEUFEL
TEUFEL rises, smiling, self-satisfied.
Teufel: Good-night, Wilson.
TEUFEL exits.
