Robert Opel’s “Christmas
Card, Fey-Way Studios,
1978.” Sent to Jack Frit-
scher, this card, printed on
one side only, was inscribed
in Robert Opel’s hand:
“Love to you from Robert
Opel.”
As a post-mortem vale-
dictory to the murdered
Robert Opel in Drummer
32 (October 1979), Jack
Fritscher published Opel’s
autobiographical religious
poem, “The Men,” written
in praise of Sacred Eros in
San Francisco. Opel con-
cluded “Pray for us now
and at the hour of our
death” and ended with the
promise of resurrection.
