Overview
The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of
telemedicine applications as they relate to practitioners today,
providing general guidance as to the risks and liabilities of
telemedicine. The course also provides suggestions as to the
establishment of a patient/provider relationship, informed
consent, and payment considerations relating to telemedicine.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Identify risk issues associated with delivery of care through
telemedicine
2. Develop risk reduction strategies such as “webside
manner”, informed consent, and documentation
3. Identify objective techniques to assist with patient care in
the use and practice of telemedicine
