What The Thumbs Do In The Swing
Mr. Hogan wanted the left hand under and the right hand on top. The thumb
pressure of both thumbs has to be on the left side. You want the body to help
you square the club up and not flip it with your hands.
Let's talk about the hands. Hogan had a reminder grip. This was a wire that he
had running down the back side of his driver grip and it was on the right
hand side as you would look down at the grip. Some say it was at 5:00 others
say 5:30, anyway he had that installed there to have it more consistent in the
way he had the face of the club opened up. He always said that the golf club
was a hook instrument and that he hated the hook.
