Laminated plastic countertops. Custom-fabricated straight, U- or L-shaped tops (such as Formica,

Solid surface countertops. Many brands available, including Corian, Wilsonart and Avenite. Tops are
cut from acrylic or polyester-acrylic sheets measuring 1/2" or 3/4" thick, 30" to 36" wide and 12' long.
The estimates below include cutting, polishing, sink and range cutouts and a flat polish edge. Color
groups are usually offered with distinct edge treatments. Group 1 colors are light shades with little
texture and a matte finish. Group 2 colors include darker colors and stone textures. Group 3 colors are
extra dark or bright and include high-gloss surfaces. Solid surface countertops are set directly on
cabinets with silicone adhesive.
