EXPANDING OUR FOOTPRINT
Brother Bill's Helping Hand began in 1943 through the efforts of Pastor Bill Harrod of Eagle Ford Baptist Mission. Pastor Harrod, affectionately known as "Brother Bill," recognized the realities of his West Dallas neighbors and congregants living in the shadows of the neighborhood's industrial factories and set out to meet the critical needs of West Dallas families. He established a mission run by and for the people of West Dallas to provide essential services and, perhaps most importantly, spiritual guidance and hope.
In the visionary spirit of our founder, BBHH is now an innovative and trusted service provider of food support, healthcare, and family enrichment programming in West Dallas, with an expanded reach into surrounding communities. While most families we serve live in the 75212 and 75211 zip codes, we do not restrict services based on address and in 2023 we expanded grocery services in partnership with BridgeBuilders to South Dallas and served families from over 190 zip codes across North Texas.
