I kept my cool, went back in and asked In Geneva, the pilot was waiting for me and
Gisela if I could acquire that puppy. We asked if I could put Ramla in her crate to
came to an agreement with Salem avoid any unwelcome scrutiny. Both Tarfa
Gharzallah and we could take Rym with us and Ramla were thus taken through
on our way back to Ghardimaou. Gisela customs while my sister carried Rym.

braided a leash for her. We stopped on our
way back in Meknassy to see other Sloughi
and horse people. Rym played with the
local Sloughi puppy. We also stopped in
Bou Salem, where I met for the first time
with Raouf Ochi, his wife Lamia, their
        Sloughis and other Sloughi owners.

Rym flew back with us to Geneva
accompanied by Tarfa and Ramla. Because
of a last-minute change of plane that could
not accommodate 2 large crates in the
cargo, the impossibility of finding a hotel

accepting 3 Sloughis, after a lot of
negotiations with the airline that led
nowhere, I was finally asked by a member
of the staff to "please go work all your
charm with the pilot!!" I said I can try, and

he drove me to him. I approached the Swiss
pilot with my best smile and explained to
him how valuable the dogs were and what a
problem it would cause if anything bad
happened to them. He then graciously
agreed to have one crate in the cargo area,

then the puppy Rym in my sister's backpack
and Ramla on a leash with me in the main
cabin. I climbed into the plane's cargo to
put Tarfa in his crate. Rym in 2001 above and 2003 below © de Caprona
