SeaStar Pro hydraulic hose # 039-57 xx 0 or 3/8" dia. nylon tubing
# 041-51011 (per ft.). (xx = Length of hose). *For SeaStar 2.0 & 2.4 systems: Use SeaStar hydraulic hose # 039-51 xx 0 or
SeaStar Pro hose # 039-57 xx 0 or 3/8" dia. copper tubing + hose kit # 037-55080. (xx = Length of hose).
For Inboards
SeaStar systems: For systems 1, 2 & 3 (See Page 33) 3/8" dia. nylon tubing # 041-51011 (per ft.) is standard requirement for plumbing the system. Copper Tubing (3/8" diameter) can be substituted but Fitting Kit # 037-55070 is required. For systems 4 & 5 Copper Tubing (3/8" diameter) is the standard requirement for plumbing the system. Fitting Kit # 037-55080 is required. For systems 1-5 SeaStar outboard hose # 039-51 xx 0 or # 039-57 xx 0 can be substituted for nylon or copper tube. (xx = Length of hose. See chart).
HOW TO DETERMINE HOSE/TUBING LENGTH
Select the situation which best suits your application, noting: a) Cylinder location b) Number of cylinders c) Type of cylinders
d) Number of steering stations and e) The number of hose and fitting kits required
Then define the hose/tubing lengths and fitting kits required: 1) Note the number of hose and fitting kits required. 2) Measure along the intended path of the hose/tube routing for each of the
required hose kits. a) Measure from centre of the cylinder(s) and helm(s). b) Some installations require more than 1 hose kit and additional fitting kits. c) Minimum bend radius for outboard hose is 2-1/2" (6 cm). d) Outboard cylinders move. They are subject to engine trim & tilt; enough
slack must be left in hoses to prevent kinking. e) Systems using copper tubing require installation of flexible cylinder hose
between the cylinder and the copper tubing. 3) Round the measurement up to the next even digit and add 2 feet (0.6m).
This is the length of the hose/tubing required. (See also Outboard, Stern Drive & Inboard Steering Sections of this catalogue for part number and application information.)
NOTE: Outboard hoses are supplied with pre-attached hose fittings on both ends. In order to prevent hose kinking, bend restrictors are supplied on one end of each hose in the kit. The end of the hose with the bend restrictor is to be attached to the cylinder.

3. COPPER TUBING
3/8" outside diameter copper tubing is recommended for inboard, stern drive and seadrive steering systems with SeaStar II (2.4 cu.in/rev displacement) helms only, or where the length run exceeds 100 ft. Additional SeaStar hose kit # 037-55080 is required to connect the tubing to the cylinder.
NOTE: 3/8" copper tubing should be obtained through a local vendor. SPECIFICATION: Soft Annealed Copper Tubing / 0.032 wall thickness / 3/8" outside diameter,
Type 'L' produced under ASTM D-280.
For Baystar System. Use BayStar hydraulic tubing (see below)
*For Seastar 1.7 systems: Use SeaStar hydraulic hose # 039-51 xx 0 or SeaStar Pro hydraulic hose # 039-57 xx 0 Outboard hose must be ordered in standard lengths.
(Cannot be cut to length. xx = Length of hose. See chart.)
*For SeaStar 2.0 & 2.4 & SeaStar PRO systems: Use SeaStar Pro hose # 039-57 xx 0 or 3/8'' dia. copper tubing + hose kit # 037-55080. SeaStar outboard hose kits are recommended.

2. NYLON TUBING
BAYSTAR TUBING KITS
Can be used with all BayStar helms, with appropriate fittings. Kit contains two cut lengths of tubing. (NOTE: BayStar Cylinders with H suffix must use tubing part number with H suffix.)

Can be used with SeaStar 1.7 helms on stern drives (except with 036-53320 cylinder) and small inboards with fitting kit; do not use on outboard systems. NOTE: SeaStar 3/8" extruded nylon tubing is not recommended for use in systems with SeaStar Pro 2.4 helms or SeaStar HP helms. It is also not to be used systems where the total length of tubing run exceeds 100 feet.
In these cases outboard hose and/or 3/8" copper tubing must be used.
