SORT, BUNDLE &
POST OFFICE
01. SORT
Many mailers choose to presort their mail because it results in low- er postage. Because you’re doing some of the work, it costs the Postal Service less money to process and deliver those pieces of mail. We pass that savings on to you in the form of commercial postage pric- es. Basically, “presorting” means grouping mail by ZIP Code.
02. BUNDLE & DELIVER
To get bulk mail postage discounts, your mail must be sorted and placed into USPS containers (trays or sacks) according to USPS rules. Larger pieces (and those with un- usual shapes) must also first be rub- ber-banded together into specific “bundles” before being placed into their containers. After Diversified Graphics takes care of some pa- perwork, everything is sent to the Post Office.
