Editor’s Message
What a year 2020 has been, amiright? We started this school year with anticipation,
eager to learn, connect with old friends, and make new ones. We participated in events
such as Mega-Marathon, Talent Show, Christmas Concert, Class Challenge, and the
Mission Trip to Honduras. As we said our good-byes before March Break, little did we
know that would be the last time we would meet as a school this year. Our learning
resumed online, and we re-connected with our friends and teachers through Zoom.
While our school day was shorter and we were now able to attend class in our pajamas,
we realized how important our friendships are, and how much we now missed them.
While this time has been difficult, it has provided us with opportunities for growth that
we might not have had otherwise.
As I reflect on this time together, I am reminded of this passage from the Lord of Rings:
“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo.
“So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for
them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
We can choose to appreciate our friends and family that have been there for us during
this time. We can have hope that we will have school face to face again soon. Ultimately,
we can know that God is in control, and He loves us dearly.
Special thanks to Mr. Bayer for helping and encouraging me, my mom and dad, everyone
who contributed to this yearbook and most importantly, God.
