19. Access Courses
 AIT (Athlone Institute of Technology) Access Course Scholarship

   Who can apply for a Sanctuary Scholarship?
  Any person can apply who is now or previously has been a Protection Applicant.
You must be age 22 on 1st January before the course starts.
Preferably you should live in Westmeath, Cavan, Meath, Longford, Offaly and Roscommon. In exceptional cases, applications from international protection applicants living in other parts of the country may be considered.
   Are you required to undertake and English Language exam?
   Not necessarily, but you will have to show that you have a sufficient level of English to participate in this course. e.g. you may have undertaken previous education through English. If you cannot provide evidence or demonstrate the required level of English you may have to undergo a language test.
   What does the scholarship include?
 Tuition Fees
Student Contribution
Annual Financial Stipend of €960 (€40 per week)
Travel Bursary for those living outside Athlone €960 (€40 per week) Laptop Loan Scheme for duration of studies
Complimentary gym membership for the duration of studies
   Any Other Relevant Information
   The Access Programme (Special Purpose Level 6) is intended for adult learners who wish to study after a break in their formal educational experience and who may not have benefited fully from, or have access to, previous educational experiences
