Who can apply for a Sanctuary Scholarship?
Any person who is a Protection Applicant (person seeking asylum) and not eligible for State support, e.g. Student Support Scheme.
Any person with Stamp 4 Permission to Remain, Subsidiary Protection, Family Reunification, or Refugee Status and not eligible for State support, e.g. SUSI grant.
Are you required to undertake an English Language exam?
Not necessarily, but you will have to show that you have a sufficient level of English to participate in this course. e.g. you may have undertaken previous education through English. If you cannot provide evidence or demonstrate the required level of English you may have to undergo a language test.
What does the scholarship include?
Tuition Fee waiver
Student Contribution
Annual scholarship of €5,000 for the duration of undergraduate studies
Any Other Relevant Information
You must apply to the Central Applications Office (CAO,
for a MTU Cork undergraduate course via either the Leaving
Certificate Route (CAO deadline 5:15 p.m. 1st May 2021), QQI route
www.cao.ie)
(CAO deadline 5:15 p.m. 1st May 2021) or the Mature Student Route
(CAO deadline 1st February 2021).
