Accounting
Aims: To provide students with the ability to prepare, present and interpret financial
information for a variety of businesses.
Competencies: Communication; Numeracy; Information; Problem solving skills; Self-
management; Competitive, social, co-operative, work and study skills.
Pathways this course contributes towards: University courses where any level of
Commerce is studied. Many courses, although not Commerce Courses, may have
Accounting module(s) in them. Having sufficient knowledge to save on Accountants fees
when operating their own small business.
Other essential information: NCEA Level 2 Accounting is desirable but not essential.
