T he first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are.

At Peevees, we are constantly evolving by taking small steps in being better at what we do. We are a
community that is constantly exploring the newness of the changing times, sailing through uncharted
         waters and striving for excellence.
Holding on to the precious lessons that we learnt from the past, we Peeveeites to make a quantum leap into
the next era as we near our 25th year of existence.
And so began the 24th academic year at Peevees Public School, Nilambur.
            OVERVIEW
Academics: This year, we decided to spend more time on progress and attainment and improving the qual-
ity of teaching and learning. Using data to drive our decisions, we collated information of our children over
the past terms / years to support the child with specific learning needs. Children who were struggling with
English were put into the English Language program. Students who were facing difficulties with learning
were placed in the Remedial program. Routine sessions were held with teachers to improve the quality of
teaching and learning in the classrooms. For board exams, aside from regular teaching and learning, focus
has been on multiple level assessments, revision coaching and pre-exam crash courses to help students
with the skills for performing well in the board exams.
A specialized Entrance / Board Exam Coaching company (IPERT) was engaged to provide training to Grade
11 and 12 science students to prepare them for the Board exams as well.
Co-curricular programs: Our specialized sports programs for football and athletics saw a paradigm shift as
our coaches adopted newer techniques to train the team. Students ended up winning laurels at both Dis-
trict and State levels. Other sports and fitness programs included Horse riding, Rifle shooting, Taekwondo,
Aerobics and many others, giving a child an array of sports and fitness programs to chose from.
The Music and Dance Academy saw the emergence of the school’s own R&B band. Aside from traditional
teaching which are led by professionals, we encouraged our children to also explore and choreograph their
own programs. Our annual day was one such event where almost all kids were on the stage and most of
the middle school to high school students choreographed and showcased their own events. It was never
meant to be perfect but what mattered most was that every child could stand up and say ‘Yes, I can do it!’
The Art academy too developed the skills of some of our natural artists whose exhibits were displayed dur-
ing the course of the school year.
A wide range of programs were also organized to develop the appreciation for culture, humanity and excel-
lence through external competitions and events.
Pastoral Care: Every child in our school has an oversight of their class and subject teachers, foster parent
and the dorm parent. They ensure that the child is growing in a safe learning environment.
Our social emotional program is run by our counseling department. From safe touch awareness programs
to managing one’s emotions, classes are held across the school. Individual sessions are held with students
who need emotional support, improvement in their behavior or overcome any fears.
