DEPARTMENT

Unlike previous years, this year (2016-17) was a paradigm shift for the Islamic Depart-
ment. With the unflinching support of its energetic faculty, an array of activities were
conducted with whole hearted participation of students and perfect appreciation of
teachers and parents. The school provides special practice in Quran recitation for
all classes from Grade I to XII. The Quran classes are handled by Mr. Mueenudeen,
PhD scholar, Mr. Nimsheer, Mr. Nuhuman and Mrs. Vahida K. (Separate Quran class
for girls).
A special assembly was conducted on 7th June, the first day of the Holy month
of Ramadan. The Head of the Department, Mrs. Vahida K. spoke on the importance
of Ramadan. All prayers were conducted regularly at the mosque under the supervi-
sion of Islamic teachers. Ramadan special prayer, Tharaweeh was conducted effec-
tively with the support of the teachers. As part of the Ramadan festivities, the Azaan
competition and the Qura’n recitation were held on 18th June, 2016. Pick and Talk,
