                                         A      steadfast champion of quality education for all, Dr. Amita Chauhan is founder-trustee
                                                of the Delhi-based Ritnand Balved Education Foundation (RBEF, estb.1986). Registered 35
                                         years ago together with her husband Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, a successful businessman who returned
                                         from Germany to India in 1986 to revolutionise India’s human capital development effort, RBEF is
                                         the promoter-trust of the globe-girdling Amity Group comprising 150 education institutions pro-
                                         viding kindergarten-Ph D education to 175,000 students in India and 12 countries around the world.


                                         Although Amity Group is widely reputed for its nine universities promoted under the banner of Am-
                                         ity University in Noida, Gurgaon, Greater Noida, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Gwalior, Kolkata, Raipur,
                                         Ranchi and Patna, RBEF has also promoted 17 Amity International Schools in India and six countries
                                         abroad. Dr. Amita Chauhan is the chairperson of the governing councils of all Amity International
                                         Schools.


                                         A  Sanskrit  postgraduate  of  Kurukshetra  University,  Dr.  Chauhan  conceptualised  and  promoted
                                         RBEF’s first education institution — the CBSE-affiliated Amity International School (AIS), Saket (Del-
                                         hi) — in 1991 followed by AIS, Noida in 1994. Since then, under her supervision, AIS institutions
                                         have multiplied to 23 co-ed day schools with an aggregate enrolment of 45,000 students in India
                                         and abroad. All of them have established excellent national reputation for providing progressive
                                         K-12 education. In the latest EducationWorld India School Rankings 2019-20, the CBSE-affiliated AIS,
                                         Noida is ranked the city’s #3 co-ed day school and AIS, Gurgaon #6 in the steel-n-glass city.
